Drawing on the influence of Islamic architecture on Gothic design, Saracen Chandelier explores the relationship between sacred architecture, ornament and light. Layers of oak rise in overlapping tiers, echoing the ribbed vaults, rose windows and radiating structures of Gothic cathedrals. At its crown, an octagonal panel is laser-cut with an intricate star motif inspired by Islamic ornamentation, reflecting the decorative traditions shared across both architectural styles.

When illuminated, a warm glow filters through the piece, casting patterns of light and shadow into the surrounding space. Suspended by metal wires, the structure appears almost weightless, allowing the natural warmth of the wood and its architectural form to take centre stage.
